Fotoeins Friday: morning threshold over the Vltava in Prague

A morning on any clear day seems to have the power to unveil itself, as the gentle dark of night cedes its cloak to a brand new golden dawn. That’s what you, I, or anyone will see from the east flank of the Vltava river in Prague, with the buildings of Malá Strana (Lesser Quarter) on the other side and Hradčany (Prague Castle) on the gentle western rise. A proclamation of an eternal Czech nation also rises with the new day, the message which I’m sure the legendary Libuše and the Přemyslid people would approve.

This is merely one of countless reasons why I’m in love with Prague

Just after 6am on 28 July 2013, I made this image at Křižovnické náměstí (Square of the Knights of the Cross), at the eastern or Old Town approach to Charles Bridge in Prague, Czech Republic. This post appears on Fotoeins Fotografie at fotoeins.com as https://wp.me/p1BIdT-5kF.

I have not been to Prague, however I have read lots and seen many enticing photographs (like yours) and know that I will get there one day.

I like the golden glow on the buildings and how they’re reflected in the water. Beautiful.

Oh how embarrasing for me. I always wondered why Vltava sounds so familiar when seeing bars named like that around Europe and this even though I have been several times in Prague !
The golden glow of the picture is just perfect, usually I am always too lazy to get up right in time to make such wonderful shots

Sometimes, the pain of early mornings or late evenings are worth the shot, but they don’t always pan out; there are certainly no guarantees. But I believe the risk-reward factor in this case is worth it; the only risk, in my view, is the lack of sleep. Thanks again for reading and for your kind comments!

Hi and thanks, Anna! If I awake early enough times, there are often good rewards on the other side to justify the lack of sleep. Thanks again for your comment!

Hi and thanks, Marcia! At any time of the year, there is something very magical about the early morning light on this part of the old town in Prague. Thanks again for stopping by!
