Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser said ‘straight lines are godless and immoral‘. I’m all about straight lines as one extreme or limit to curved lines. As these examples show, I like knowing how lines lead the eye, and following where lines want me to go.

I love, love your post, of course especially the Munich Marienplatz image, since I was born in Munich. Great lines shown here.

Thank you, Cornelia! Yes, I agree with you: Marienplatz station is a favourite. I’ll be in Munich again next month for a couple of days. My schedule is tight, but I hope to get some more photography in a couple more U-Bahn stations, and perhaps again at Marienplatz. I don’t remember if you told me the last time you were in Munich, but perhaps you are already aware the underground passages from Hauptbahnhof to Karlsplatz (Stachus) have all been renovated (bright and shiny!), as well as the underground passage at Marienplatz.
