•   Early-morning Harbour Air seaplane (HA141), from Vancouver harbour to Comox harbour for BC Shellfish & Seafood Festival.
•   Flying over Strait of Georgia (Salish Sea), facing north to and passing Sechelt (at centre) at 740am; the waters of Sechelt Inlet beyond.
•   This part of the British Columbia mainland and coastline is also called the Sunshine Coast.

I made the photo above on 12 Jun 2015 with the Canon EOS6D, 24-105 L zoom-lens, and the following settings: 1/250s, f/16, ISO400, 92mm focal-length. This post appears on Fotoeins Fotopress at as

Fotoeins Friday: first day of northern summer

The solstice marks the longest (shortest) day of the year in the northern (southern) hemisphere. For many in Vancouver, Canada, it’s perfect beach weather for a picnic, a swim, a row, or simply watch people go by, followed by a sunset over the water. Another popular activity here at Spanish Banks is beach volleyball, either 2 versus 2, or a full 6 against 6. Another summertime shot of mine appears here for Maria Falvey’s Wordless Wednesday.
