After the morning to and from Scharnitz, I returned to Innsbruck, and immediately headed south into the Stubai valley for the afternoon and early-evening. I had enough time to make a short walk in each of the towns Neustift and Fulpmes, but truth told, I would’ve preferred a minimum of one full day to appreciate more fully the spring-summer rhythms in the river valley and ascend the cable cars up both Kreuzjoch and Elfer, plus another day to the very end of the Stubai valley to Mutterbergalm, and up Schaufelspitze for views of the Stubaier Gletscher (Stubai Glacier) at “the top of Tirol.”
The present description is a part of my 1-day trips within Tirol, including:
Neustift im Stubaital
From Innsbruck’s central station, I hopped on bus 590 (590A also valid) to Neustift im Stubaital. I stepped off the bus at stop “Ortsmitte” and spent some time wandering the compact town’s streets up the meadowed slopes where I was accompanied by cows and goats.
From Neustift, I’m on bus 590, northbound towards Innsbruck. I hop off the bus in Fulpmes, where I catch up on “Kaffee und Kuchen” (coffee and cake) at Café Premm. I have a quick look in town before catching the Stubai valley tram (Stubaitalbahn, STB) for the trip back to Innsbruck.
• Innsbruck to Neustift, about 1 hour with regional bus 590a/b with service every half-hour.
• Fulpmes to Innsbruck, about 1 hour with STB Stubai valley tram with service every hour, or with regional bus 590a/b with service every half-hour.
I made all photos above on 12 May 2018 with a Canon EOS 6D mark1 (6D1) and a Fujifilm X70 fixed-lens prime (X70). This post appears on Fotoeins Fotografie at fotoeins DOT com as https://wp.me/p1BIdT-cc4.
