Previously, in Prague
Above/featured: “Fred & Ginger”, a.k.a. Dancing House (Tančící dům) with streaking streetcar – 6 Nov 2016.
This is a city with which I fell in love for the first time in late-2007. Many returns to Prague ensued between 2007 and 2016. As a follow-up to “Previously, in Berlin“, I explore through these 10 images my previous visit to the capital city of the Czech Republic.
Parts of Prague
I made all photos above from 5 to 8 November 2016 with a Canon EOS 6D mark1. Alle Fotoaufnahmen sind mit Wasserzeichen versehen worden. Indeed Prague is a lovely city, I went there in winter time, as it was snowing on the roofs, it looked like it in a fairy tale. Thank you for sharing your images.

Hi, Cornelia. Some years ago, I visited Prague during the final week in December over a very snowy New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. It was very cold spending any time outside in the quiet city, but because of the holiday and relatively empty streets, it was beautiful and, as you correctly describe, like a fairy tale. Thanks for your comment and for stopping by! Take care!

Thank you Henry for your kind respond, I remember when in Prague, that there so many concerts in several churches. Stay safe and healthy.

Cafes, churches, and galleries provide perfect cozy venues for music events. And you’ll agree that’s evident throughout Europe. I must admit I haven’t done a lot of that and spend too many evenings out, because I’m usually exhausted by day’s end. But I’ll have to keep it in mind. Thanks for your input, Cornelia.

Hi and thanks, John. I hope you can get to Prague soon. It is an unbelievably beautiful city under great light as that autumn morning shot attests. Summers can be stifling and overcrowded, and winters can be very cold. I’d recommend shoulder-season, especially autumn with surrounding deciduous trees when the weather is good, days remain reasonably long, and crowds while ever present are moderate in size (relative to the summer holiday masses). Thanks again!

Excellent. Parts of Prague most of which I have not seen, despite several visits. Well done.

I love Art Nouveau and enjoyed the interiors of Obecni Dum, http://www.obecnidum.cz/en/ . I found better exteriors along the big boulevard, Václavské náměstí, I think it is. So much to see everywhere there!

Hi, John. I agree with you about the Municipal House and the buildings on Wenceslas Square. One can also spend some time walking and exploring the streets in Mala Strana (Lesser Quarter), Hradcany (Castle District), and a little farther afoot in Vinohrady. So much to see, so little time.

We loved our visit to Prague Henry and have many lovely images. But your image of the “brownnoser” made my day!

Hi and thanks, Tina. The artist David Cerny is at the very least a very cheeky fellow. For “Brownnosers,” guests are invited to climb up and peer into the “hole” where a short video plays on continuous loop. Take care!
