Fotoeins Friday: spring alpine morning in Tirol’s Alpbach
Spring’s at hand, and summer’s around the corner: among mountains, meadows, and buttercups, under a deep ocean of blue sky. This view faces south, across the Alpbach valley to the Wiedersberger Horn mountain at top-right (peak elevation: 2127 metres / 6978 feet).
I made the photo above at 840am CEDT on 14 May 2018 with a Fujifilm X70 fixed-lens 18.5mm prime (28mm full-frame equivalent), and settings: 1/500-sec, f/11, and ISO1000. This post appears on Fotoeins Fotografie at fotoeins.com as https://wp.me/p1BIdT-bIb.

Oh it is so green there, I miss it, In have been at Wiedersberger Horn back than.

Hi, Cornelia, and thanks for your comment! It is definitely images and sights like these which make me very happy to return to Germany and Austria in late-spring. Perfect temperatures, perfect conditions, and also perfect for pollen! Did you go up to Wiedersberger Horn in summer and/or winter? How was the hiking and skiing, respectively?

Unfortunately, it was a relatively brief dash between Brixlegg and Alpbach, and subsequently, only a morning-visit to Alpbach. But as all first-time visits are introductions and if first impressions are good (which happen most of the time), I have to go back and stay in the Alpbach valley to see more of it and drink it all in. Well, these are not the very high Alps instead you will find beautiful lakes nearby outside of Alpbach valley what is highly appreciated in a hot Summer.

Aside from my all-too active allergies, I’d been wanting to see springtime green in the Alps for some time. Hauling my butt out to Alpbach in the early morning to see this lush green landscape was worth the lack of sleep. 😉

The allergies were very bad, but yes, it was all worth it. When I returned to Vancouver, those allergies seemed to vanish; it was as if I got it all out of my system. Well, at least for this year, anyway. 😅
