Fotoeins Friday: Salmon setting in BC’s Okisollo Channel

About 30 kilometres north from Campbell River, the Okisollo Channel is a narrow strip of water in the south coast of British Columbia. The channel juts out from Discovery Passage separating Vancouver Island from the Discovery Islands. In the picture shown, the view on the water near Brent Island faces east-northeast. Three aquaculture farms are located in the area (Fisheries and Oceans Canada). Cermaq’s farm is located off-frame behind and to the left, and one of Marine Harvest Canada’s facilities is visible at centre-left and in the distance in front of Sonora Island.

Thanks to Discover Comox Valley, Comox Valley Economic Development Society (EDS), the BC Salmon Famers Association, and Cermaq for support and access to venues and activities on central Vancouver Island; and to Old House Hotel & Spa for their hospitality. I made the photo above on 15 June 2015 with the Canon EOS6D, 24-105 zoom, and the following settings: 1/1250-sec, f/16, ISO1000, and 47mm focal length.
