Germany in late-fall and winter can be grim, grey, cold, and wet. The sun and blue skies are a most welcome appearance, even under a mass of cold air. Here at Stachus (Karlsplatz, Charles Square) in München, the polar bear fixture on top of one of the stalls at the Christmas market seems to beckon, wave, and greet all those who see and approach this busy square. You’ve just come up and out of the S-Bahn, Tram, or U-Bahn, and you’re cold? Come and pick up a hot drink and food to get warmed up.
I made the photo above at Stachus (also, Karlsplatz) in München on 12 December 2012 with a Canon EOS450D and the EF-S 18-55 IS II lens with the following settings: 1/320s, f/8, ISO100, 42mm (67mm).
