Fotoeins Friday: Wait and commute, Berlin Alexanderplatz

“Zusammen allein (Alone together)”

Berlin’s Alexanderplatz is an important transit exchange with bus, tram, and train (RE, RB, S, U) connections. With the Fernsehturm (TV Tower) and the late-afternoon autumn sun as backdrop, people assembling on the platform are waiting for their commute home on the trains. I think there’s a very interesting contrast between the weary workers in the foreground with the bright life-sustaining sun in the background. The photo above appears in my book “389: Transitory Impressions”.
