San Francisco on the last day of 2011
Above/featured: BART station El Cerrito Plaza, at sunrise.
Dropping off my friend at 830am at SFO Airport on their way to México was a great opportunity to have a look at the airport itself. Even better was catching some visuals within the city on a relatively quiet day …

Thank you, Xandre! 🙂 I still feel very fortunate to have opened my eyes enough to see some of these sights, and just as fortunate to have used my camera to take these photos. Thanks again for reading and for leaving your very kind comments!

Hi, Erin. I didn’t realize San Francisco was your favourite home-city! I’m very grateful the weather was cooperative the entire time between Christmas Day and just after New Year’s, because the light and the air were both beautiful for photography.
By the way, I hope to come back and visit Madrid again this fall! 🙂 Thanks for reading, y muchas gracias por su respuesta!

San Francisco is great. I had such fun riding the cable cars. I stayed in Pacific Heights, which isn’t exactly downtown but a very nice area, and thought Filmore Street was great for food and small boutiques. Great pictures!!

Hi, Christina. The cable cars are great rides, aren’t they? No matter what time of year, they’re always popular! Pacific Heights looks like a great neighbourhood – although the area isn’t quite downtown, the centre is accessible with MUNI. Thanks again for reading and your kind comments!

Hi, Stephen. As always, your city showed its best to me, this last time under warm spring-like conditions in late-December/early-January. Thanks for reading and for your comment!

You should be here now, Henry. We’re hitting the low 70s. Very strange for this time of year.

Hah! That’s not bad at all. I can’t complain either, as I’m presently in the greater Los Angeles area.

oops … spoke to soon. cold front moved in last night and now we’re pretty much where we should be, in the high 40s, low 50s, which is still none too shabby.
